The shadow hand was photoshopped to remain in the frames as a disembodied presence.
This presence visually communicates the sense of longing in the song.
The presence continues to live by interacting with surrounding elements.
Throughout each environment, warm tones and grain maintain a sense of tender nostalgia.
Meticulous staging with thread and adhesives were erased in post-production.
Vintage, round serif fonts were used for lyrics, as seen in the needle felted dust.
X-ACTO knives were a major tool in this project, as seen in this cut out napkin.
Thus, the project challenged imagination and aesthetics by controlled skill.
New hobbies and mediums, such as learning how to use a sewing machine were gained.
Patience was greatly required as some materials proved to be frustratingly fragile.

The Korean-indie song “Summer” tells a mellow, nostalgic story about a past summer romance and lover.

The hot summer night's gone
and what's left is no good to see.
But I will leave it behind
for whoever comes in next.

Solution 1: Images featuring the empty presence of a shadow-hand interacting with the changing seasons of a framed environment.

Solution 2: Images featuring typographic interactions with everyday objects in mundane settings as seen through film.
